Reasons Why Laws Should Change And Improve

David Alessi

Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, and we should be aware of all of them to understand their working better.

The understanding of the disadvantages of these laws can help to make our lives miserable and can also help us to move more carefully without making us deflect from our cause and find alternative ways that can be helpful.

Let’s have a look at some of the disadvantages that the law offers and why we should be protecting ourselves.

  • Laws are rigid

A notable disadvantage is that the laws are rigid. Without the consideration of any special times or circumstances, the laws are applied with rigidity and without exception. While this might be good, there are times when this can be considered bad. There are cases where the circumstances are different and might not compete with the laws being applied to it. In this situation, it is pretty unfair to rule it in the same way as all the other situations.

At times, it allows to cause hardships and injustice in the cases, and the innocent party has to pay for it at times.

  • It has formalism

In simple words, formalism means and refers to the tendency to attribute more importance to the technical requirement than to the substantive right and wrong. The formalism related to the ancient law is sometimes too notorious for requiring any sort of illustration. In the modern times where we currently reside, registration and attestation have become examples of formalities.

  • It has needless complexity.

A lot of people might agree to this disadvantage that laws carry a lot of needless complexity. There are times and laws that have become more complex and difficult to understand because of the unwanted development of the legal system. It is actually an issue where it becomes very difficult and problematic for the people to understand the laws completely and act as they are required to. It is then considered the job and the lawyer’s role to make sure that they remove all the complexities making the law easier but even get confused at times.

  • Laws are conservative at times.

Conservatism is just an extension of rigidity regarding the laws. It represents the failure of the laws to update and change themselves according to the circumstances, and the cases are seen.

It is understood that it is only understandable and wise to change and update the laws in a progressive and developing society. Getting stuck with the old laws and reforms can be problematic and confusing.

Myths Related To Law Schools

David Alessi

While we are on the subject of myths, there are several myths related to all the topics around us. There is almost nothing that is protected from these myths, and in this article, we talk about them with regards to law schools.

When students think of joining the law school, there are some very strong myths that they get hit with, and because of this, it can make them drop out or never join a law school.

So, without any further ado, let us get into the detail of the myths related to law schools.

  • They are only related to studying and nothing more

Yes, without a doubt, law schools have to make sure that their students pay a lot of attention and focus on the readings and the coursework, but this statement is only partially true. While they focus on teaching and studying, they also pay attention to sports and healthy competitions, which can help them to relax and find other ways to improve their grades and learn more.

  • The environment is highly competitive.

Law schools are highly competitive because studying law can be challenging at times. There are competitions related to law that provide excellent opportunities for the students to move further ahead and learn more. But instead of looking at the negative aspect, the positive look is that competition helps to grow and learn. Through these competitions, students are able to learn and experience what it is like to be in an actual courtroom. With the proper help and interpretation, institutes can easily decide on competitions that can be considered healthy and unhealthy. So, they know the competitions that the students should compete in and the ones that should be left.

  • It is an elitist profession.

There are a lot of misconceptions about the profession that it might be for the ones that have a lot of money or can afford this level of education. And these misconceptions arise from various channels like television shows, but it is not completely true.

It is completely based on merit and who gets more scores. If a person has been able to get a higher score than the other person, they will be accepted in the profession regardless of their background.

These are just some of the most commonly found misconceptions that refrain people from choosing this field at all. The debunking of these myths can help pave a smooth path for a lot of people.
